It could not be argued that the most jaw-dropping and unique tattoos are those that people designed themselves. If you are interested on making a tattoo yourself, you need to have basic talent and plenty of desire. Remember, drawing a tattoo could be a real challenge, whether it is for you or for somebody else.  You should have all the tools and equipment necessary to create a tattoo.

Start with the figure or shape you like and draw it on paper. Make a sketch with pen or pencil. Try to sketch and draw as many designs as you can, try out different styles and do not worry on the outcome. Just keep on drawing or sketch. As soon as you have a basic figure, refine the design and add details and definitions. You can add soft shading, textures and other variations to the drawing. Consider different colors as well. When choosing colors, it is important to get the colors that you like most and appropriate to use for the tattoo design. Choose colors that compliment your complexion and the colors should blend naturally with each other.

Transfer the design to a tracing paper and before creating the final stencil, you have to hold the sketch against your body to ensure that it is the right size. Fill the technical pen with stencil fluid and trace the tattoo design on a tracing paper and allow it to dry completely before continuing. Finally, you can show your own tattoo design to the artist you plan to work with. A good tattoo artist will offer ideas and suggestions to make the design even better.
